It looks like denim, but is in fact a super soft jersey with lovely weight and plenty of stretch, making it superbly comfortable! It is true to size, but if you prefer a very cinched waist consider sizing down. There is elasticated at the sides of the hem to create the soft bubble shape, so you won't feel hobbled by the shape.
