I was hesitant about buying this dress due to the price tag but when it arrived I could see the quality and style was worth it. You can wear all year round with sandals in summer and boots in winter and the pull in empire waist is flattering for all shapes. The sizing is large so I bought a size down to normal and was pleased I did. This dress really is stunning and worth the investment

This is a gorg ! Ticks all the boxes. I got the 12, I’m usually 12-14 the fit is perfect, just had to take up the hem as I’m 5’4.

This dress is lovely but, unfortunately, did not suit me. I have now returned.

As per the other reviews, this dress is a flattering style, even for us larger ladies! This is the second of these I have bought because of that very reason. Would definitely recommend.

Red is my colour - I wear it a lot. So whenever I see a red anything that I like, it is instant love. I adored this dress when I first saw it in the catalogue. I loved it even more when I checked it out on line. But nothing could prepare me for how much I love this dress when it's on. It fits beautifully. Is just the right shade of red for my skin, and makes me feel so great when I'm wearing it.

What can I say? It is divine - light and flowy, a vivid red, a maxi for hot days and nights and very flattering to a curvaceous woman. 170cm and a 14-16 figure - 14 is perfect in length and fit with room to move. Love it.

Love this dress! after trying 6 other dresses I finally found one that sat nicely for my body shape. Being short, I did have to take it up as it is quite long, and I also hand stitched the front together as the hooks kept coming undone. Looking forward to wearing it over Christmas.

I’m glad I read the reviews before purchasing. I chose a size smaller than normal and it fits perfectly. It’s quite long in length and I’m 169cm and the sleeves are longer than it looks in the picture but I’m sure I’ll have an opportunity to wear it on cooler summer nights. A pretty green colour and it’s not at all see through. Flattering shape as the tie comes under the bust area and the material flows down from there.

Wow, I just love this dress. Everything about this dress is lovely. The style of this is good for me as Iam smaller up top than the bottom, the skirt provides plenty of room. I may have been able to go an 8 in this even.

All of the reviews of this dress are spot on. Fabric is partially see through so will wear a slip underneath. Great length and the sleeves are gorgeous, not too much of a bell shape to be annoying and drape into food. Very happy.

I am a G cup and found that I was easily able to do up the clasps and there was no gaping. The draw tie did not fall in the centre of the bust (which often happens for larger chested ladies) and I was able to pull it in which defined my body shape better. It is a gorgeous dress!

Loved my blue one so much I ordered another colour. The colour is as per the picture and once again very flattering dress. Perfect fit and length; I'm 168cm tall.

This dress is a lovely flattering fit, I can see why it’s popular. The fabric is floaty and will be great as the weather warms up. I ordered a 14 but my hips more of a 16 and it fits well. Can’t wait to see if more colours come out in this style

This is the second one I have bought. Last year I got the black and white version. I love this one just as much. Its a bit long for a short person like myself (that always happen) but I just cut off a section at the bottom.

I bought in Jade at full price and have worn it so many times and received many compliments and requests from where I bought it (I always sing your praises Birdsnest!) that I decided to get it in the blue as well. The fabric seems to be lighter and this can definitely be worn up with heels or down with some sandals... just love it...

Everything about this dress is gorgeous! I'm a pear shape so it accentuates the waist and hides the hips. Felt so lovely and cool on the 48°C day I wore it. It is truly versatile, threw straight over the wet cozzies after the pool. Please stock this style and cut again in different prints and colours.

Reviews helped me decide to buy one size smaller and it fits perfectly.
I read other reviews about gaping buttons, but found that there were 4 hook & eye fasteners at the top of the front of the dress. The hook side was easily pressed more closed, so that they did not come undone with body movement. The opening between these fasteners could gape if too tight across the bust, but my dress is fine, even though I chose one size smaller. The fasteners create a very clean closure.
I feel wonderful wearing this dress and will wear it all year round.

I purchased this style in both the Red & Deep Blue colour, however the Red is at least a size if not a size & a half larger than the Blue despite both being labelled size 16.
I recommend sizing down at least one size in the Red colour.
Sadly I've had to return it & unfortunately the size down was out of stock therefore I was unable to exchange it.

I’m reviewing this dress a year after I bought it. It has been through the wash and dryer quite a number of times and the fabric is still looking good, still bright and as good as new after an iron. Sometimes a thread from a bird comes loose but easily fixed with a pair of scissors.
The hooks and eyes at the bust came loose after about 8 months (a lot of wear). I removed them and sewed up the bust instead. Again as good as new.

I have this dress in a black in a 12, but when the red arrived it was much larger than the black. I returned it and now have a 10 which is perfect. I ordered the slip Togo under neath as it is a bit see through. I love this dress, it’s comfortable and flowy and looks gorgeous on. Great for the summer weather. Can’t wait to wear it Xmas day.

This is a gorgeous dress. Last year I bought it in the navy in a size 18. Due to a bit of weight loss I ordered it in both the 16 and 18 in red. The 16 was so large that I sized it against last years 18, and the 16 red is significantly larger than the 18 navy!!?!?!?! I’ve now sent for a 14, and I am certainly no where near a size 14. So go at least two sizes smaller than your usual size. It’s really frustrating as I won’t have the 14 in time to wear it to the event I originally planned

Christmas dress sorted - love the colour. The neckline is almost like a Chinese style - different to anything I have which I love. Possibly one size down but may have made it a little clingy around the back with a bra.

I really liked the look of this dress online, and it is very generous in size however I feel the length is way too long for my 5'6 height. Color is really bright exactly as photo. Undecided if I will keep and shorten or send back.

This is a delightful dress, with a scandinavian feel to the design. Sadly, a little small across the chest, but that is a common problem for me. In all other aspects the dress is a nice, relaxed fit and very flattering. Love it!

Lovely dress. Looked good from the front but kind of grabbed a bit at the back, showing my 'backfat'. Family said it looked ok but at that price you need to feel comfortable so will send it back and try another style

This dress is lovely. It's nice on and the design is very flattering . It will suit tall girls as it is very long , otherwise you will need to take it up.

I loved this dress and was so excited when it arrived, but it just didn't suit my curvy body type. The main issue were the arms, which were narrow at the top .

I find it difficult to find dresses that fit well as I am size 16 bust, 14 waist and 12 hips. I bought a 14 in this dress and it fits perfectly (with the top button undone). It is as flattering and vibrant as the photos look. I bought it for a Spring garden wedding and it will be perfect with heels. Equally it would dress down with flats.

I love this dress, Fit's in all the right places. I went for a 18, I could have fitted in a 16 however I like loose fitting clothes, It cinches under the bust and skims the tummy. Very slimming. The length is great, not too long and I can walk around barefooted after the shoes come off! I didn't notice if it was see through in the light? But a black or white body singlet would fix that ,if it's the case. The fabric is soft and comfy and feels beautiful on.Perfectly named dress, you really do feel like your floating/dancing with the birds.

This dress is amazing when I tried it on it fits true to size and just flows. As always I will send it to my dressmaker to get it shortened but that's with absolutely everything I buy as I'm short. I can't wait to wear this one out -the colour is divine. This is one of those easy dresses that you can dress up or wear more casually. Love it! 10/10

This dress is absolutely lovely. I hedged my bets and went with a size 18 (I'm anything from a 14-18 when it comes to tops and bottoms), and the 18 fits beautifully. I've got wide arms and the sleeves on this are just right. It's absolutely gorgeous, the empire drawstring under the boobs means the dress skims your waist and then drapes to the floor (I'm 165cm and it's pretty much floor length). It's really gorgeous and I can't wait to find an excuse to wear it!

Unfortunately this style of dress did not suit my body type. The top half was lovely but the skirt part, past my hips needs to come in more with shape. It made me look large. Great dress if you are a straight up and down figure but not for me :)

Originally ordered a size 16 but had to return it for a 14. Material is light and flimsy , a bit on the cheap side, and I know i will ruin it eventually in the wash, however it fits well over my 16dd boobs and I'm 180cm tall and it's just above my ankles. I'll get a lot of wear over summer but due to the material I don't think it'll be around next summer.

I ordered two similar dresses from Birdsnest, hoping one would be good and I could send one back. DAMNATION, they are both superb. I'm 5 9" and this is full length on me. I have curves and boobs, and it hugs me in all the right places. I can't wait to wear it on stinking hot days as the cotton is so light.
The colour is a bit darker in real life though.
This is very much what I will be wearing on Christmas Day!!!

This dress fits very comfortably, and the empire-line waist means that the dress falls elegantly over hips and waist. The blue is not quite as vibrant as pictured (more of a pretty purple-toned navy blue rather than cobalt). The length is great, skimming the top of my feet. (I'm 5'4) I would recommend wearing a slip/ camisole under this, as the hook closure could gape a bit, though the fabric itself is not very see-through. The only reason I didn't give this a full 5 stars was that the embroidered print pattern wasn't quite matched at the side seams. Otherwise, it's a really gorgeous dress!

I ordered this in 16 & 18 because the sage in the 18 was a lot bigger. But this time the blue was perfect sizing the 18 is a great length even for a shorty like me. Need to wear a singlet underneath because it only has hook & eye closure that undoes easily. I like it with the white singlet underneath definitely a keeper.

This dress looks beautiful in the catalogue and I had to have it. Unfortunately, it’s completely see-thru and there’s no way I’d wear anywhere than by the pool or on the beach; it’s a kaftan at best. Really disappointed as it is a nice style. On the large size.

I love the style and l already have one in the blue, but l was disappointed with the colour. It wasn't the pink l thought it would be.

An exquisite dress, soft, floaty and very feminine. Possibly better suited to taller ladies.... I'm 5ft9 and it comes to my ankles. Sadly it has arrived with a badly pulled thread on one sleeve and two of the four hook/ eye clasps are falling off. These problems can be fixed, but I am disappointed to pay so much money for a dress I need to repair

True to size and beautiful to wear

I'm a pear and pot-bellied gal, with bum and bits that stick out. Unfortunately, although this frock is absolutely gorgeous, it shows the bottom sticky-out bits too much for me (even though the s14 was roomy). I just didn't want to have to wear shape-wear with this warmer weather wonder, so sadly it has been returned.

Gorgeous soft material, I love the shape and flow of this dress. I can't wait for the blue, I will definitely be buying that one too.
