Remember when, just a few years ago, we wondered if we could ever travel again? When the roads, the rails, the skies, the waterways reopened, some of us were quick off the mark to head back out on the next “Big Adventure”. Others might manage a night away, here and there. Wherever you go, however far, however long, here are the travel essentials you cannot leave home without.

The perfect weekender bag has enough space to carry a couple of changes of clothes, your sleepwear and toiletries and perhaps a pair of shoes, but small enough to carry on a flight - who wants to waste time at baggage claim?

Keeping your toiletries organised while you travel makes life so much easier! We love a bag you can hang up, making everything easily accessible! Go for compartments in your travel bag or a set that includes a separate cosmetics purse.

A good handbag is the ideal travel companion. Choose a capacious shoulder bag that can hold everything. Or if you are a birdy who likes to travel with less ‘stuff’, a smaller crossbody bag could be more your style. And, make sure you have a quality purse for passport, cards and banknotes from the exciting places you visit!

An absolute essential when you travel is a toothbrush, but there are other important bits and pieces you need, for self-care. For example, wearing a sleep mask can help you arrive rested after a very long journey, and help you sleep in an unfamiliar bed. Keep your lips nourished, and your mind calm… you’ll feel better prepared for the arrivals process.

Hey, don’t forget to care about our planet, too. Whenever you can, think about carrying a keep-cup, your own bottle for water, even your own cutlery.

If your journey is a long one, comfort is key - you might be in this outfit for a long time! Choose something with stretch, something that skims your waist, something you can layer. Bamboo is the perfect travel companion. It’s a natural fibre that regulates temperature, keeps you feeling fresh by absorbing moisture, plus it’s super soft and comfy. Add a statement scarf, or a long drop necklace, or eye-catching earrings to a black top or dress and you will fit right in.

Comfortable footwear is simply non negotiable for the traveler. Consider styles that feel great on your feet, but are also easy to pack. Of course, you also need to think about the destination itself!
