At birdsnest, we like to think of ourselves as your Wardrobe Wingbirds, here to help you feel confident in what you wear. Empowering women has always been at the heart of what we do — from the women we dress, to the team we’ve grown. Today, our business is proudly based in the country town of Cooma in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, supported by a team of over 150 people, 85% of whom are women.

More than 85,000 women have shared their body shape, favourite colours, lifestyle and wardrobe needs with us. We’ve listened — and designed nine exclusive in-house labels, our “bird brands,” to meet them. Alongside these, we offer a carefully curated mix of styles from brands we truly love. Wherever possible, we strive to provide an inclusive size range, with many styles available from size 8 to 24.

We want shopping at birdsnest to feel like shopping with your flock — a place to solve wardrobe dilemmas, discover new favourites, and enjoy a little retail therapy along the way.

It all began when founder Jane Cay, our ‘Big Bird’, fell in love with a farmer named Oli and married in 2000. From the country, she dreamed of creating an online store that was truly unique — one that would inspire confidence in women and look world-class. By combining her love of fashion, IT, and all things girly, birdsnest was born.

Our mission is simple: to solve women’s wardrobe dilemmas. We offer personalised styling advice, express delivery, styled outfit inspiration, no-hassle returns, and a wide, inclusive range of brands and sizes.

Nearly 10 years later, we’re still innovating. From shopping by body shape, colour, or occasion, to creating your own style profile and exploring our Birdsnest changeroom, our goal is to help every woman find her style — and love it.
