Now's not the time to dust off the ball gown or anything that screams too much. As the old adage says, you want to look like you haven’t tried too hard, regardless of whether you have or not!

So you’re going on a dinner date - this is the time to go for something a little bit more formal, ditch the jeans and step it up with an outfit that really shows off what you’ve got!

Seeing as you’ll be sitting down mostly, don’t be afraid to step out in heels. A simple black dress or jumpsuit ticks all the boxes and can be accessorised to show your own unique style and personality.

Black is a great colour choice as not only is it flattering but if, like me, you happen to be a bit of a clutz, then it’s also incredibly forgiving of stains and any potential spills. However, if you love going with a bit more colour in your look then go for it! At the end of the day, your outfit is a representation of you!

One more tip from us, look for styles that give you a bit of room, no one wants a tight waistband digging into them when they’re trying to enjoy a good meal.

What’s more classic than a movie date! When it comes to choosing an outfit, look for something comfortable as you’ll be seated for a long period and the last thing you want is to be uncomfortable. Cinemas often get cold and it’s nice to feel cosy, so bring a jumper or a jacket that you can throw over you when you need. The movies are definitely more of a relaxed setting than dinner so feel free to go casual over couture.

Coffee dates are the perfect starting point for getting to know someone better. This is your chance to have a bit of fun with your outfit and embrace your playful side. Bring out the colours, the prints and any funky accessories tucked away in your drawers. Whether it’s jeans and a nice top or a dress with a cute jacket, coffee dates are the opportunity to show someone who you are and let your personality shine through, so wear something that truly reflects who you are. 

The epitome of the summer date! What’s better than the sun on your skin or the cool salt water as you dive under the waves. The thrill of laying next to that certain someone as you read a book or enjoy a picnic together. Complete the day with the perfect beach date outfit. Personally, we’re a big fan of a one piece paired with a sarong, but we understand those tan enthusiasts among you who prefer to opt for a bikini. Pair a light, throw-on dress or cover up over the top of your swimsuit and make sure you wear a wide-brimmed hat as they’re not only stylish but sun safe. Finish the look with some sunglasses and sandals, throw a towel and some sunscreen in your bag and you’re ready to hit the beach!

If you’re anything like us, who doesn’t love a long (maybe slightly boozy) lunch date. Lunch dates are all about striking that balance between casual and formal. You can have that ‘all done up’ feeling but in a more relaxed setting. 

Sometimes you just don’t feel like going out, takeaway and a movie just sounds so much better. Staying in doesn’t mean that you can’t turn your evening into something special! Light a candle and slip into something cute and comfy for a cosy night in with your partner.
